Linda E. Schweitzer

Professional Profile

 

 

Dr. Schweitzer is a senior scientist and technical consultant for the Performance and Reliability Group. She is responsible for leading environmental management technology development and implementation projects for major client organizations.

 

Linda has 20 years of research experience in the fields of pharmacology, toxicology, and environmental chemistry. She is an assistant professor at Oakland University where she teaches classes in Water Resources, Fate and Transport of Chemicals in the Environment, Aquatic Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Chemistry, and Global Environmental Health.

 

Dr. Schweitzer conducts on-going research programs in several areas of environmental management for the Federal government, environmental research foundations, and public utilities. Her research areas include: Contaminant sensing, environmental chemistry, forensics, remediation techniques, and toxicology.

 

Dr. Schweitzer has extensive field experience in the areas of remediation assessment, surface water quality monitoring, storm water management, contaminant analysis, and NPDES compliance. She has consulted for Biophysica, Tetra Tech, the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project, Walt Disney Imagineering, numerous water/wastewater utilities, and other water related businesses.

Linda has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, a Masters of Science Degree in Environmental Toxicology, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry from the University of California.  She is presently the science advisor to the Macomb County Water Quality Board. In addition, she serves on numerous technical committees, and is a reviewer for AwwaRF: Standard Methods for the Analysis of Water and Wastewater, and Water Science and Technology.
